If you need heat—and you need it now—this is the tool for the job. We built this 660mm carbon lamp for those moments when you can’t afford to wait for a slow warm-up. While old-school metal elements take their sweet time, the carbon filament here gets moving fast. It hits the target with a high burst of infrared energy without needing to get dangerously hot itself.
The power side of things
We set this at 1000W and 220V. Why? Because it means you can plug it straight into most industrial grids. No bulky transformers, no mess. It’s fast. Really fast. The tube hits its operating temp in a matter of seconds. One quick tip: if you’re packing these into a tight array, keep an eye on your airflow. All that heat adds up. If your ventilation isn’t up to scratch, you risk melting your sockets, and nobody wants to deal with that on a Tuesday morning.
Why carbon and quartz?
The clear quartz glass is there to let the shortwave radiation fly right through. We went with a carbon emitter because it’s just a better way to convert energy. You get more heat where you actually need it and less wasted energy trapped inside the tube. But here is a big one:don’t touch the glass with your bare hands. I know it sounds picky, but the oils from your skin create tiny hot spots. When the lamp heats up, those spots cause the quartz to crack under the stress. Use gloves or a clean cloth. Your future self will thank you.
Getting it into your setup
If you’re running PET blowing machines or drying tunnels, this is a simple swap. The 660mm size is a standard for a reason—it just fits. You can pull out a dead tube and slide this one in without having to rebuild your entire chassis. Since carbon lamps have a specific way they ramp up, you can tweak your PID controllers to keep things smooth and avoid that annoying temperature overshoot. Just double-check your wiring gauge. Running 1000W over long shifts can lead to voltage drops at the terminals if your wires are too thin. Keep it beefy, and you’re good to go.
