Getting the Heat Right: Our 12mm Carbon Fiber FIR Lamps for Shoe Making

When you’re running a shoe assembly line, the glue is everything. If it doesn’t cure right, the shoe falls apart. That’s why we use these 12mm carbon fiber far infrared (FIR) lamps. They aren’t your typical quartz heaters. Instead of a standard coil, we’ve got a carbon fiber filament tucked inside a quartz tube. It sends out long-wave radiation that actually gets into the material. Why 12mm? It’s the sweet spot. It fits right into most shoe machine retrofits without a fight. If your process relies on an instant, blistering flash-cure, these might feel a bit slow at first. You’ll probably want to tweak your conveyor speed. Just slow it down a touch so the material stays in the heat zone long enough to bond perfectly. Also, keep an eye on your voltage regulators. Dirty power is the fastest way to kill a filament.
